 Learning JSF

Here’s a great way of learning JSF from the JSF For Non-Believers series by Rick Hightower at IBM Developerworks.

Clearing The FUD About JSF
The JSF Application Lifecycle
JSF Conversion and Validation
JSF Component Development

Pretty good although one thing to watch out for is that you need to change the faces-config.xml from the DTD used by JSF 1.1 to [...]

 Weird Characters In WordPress Posts

I recently upgraded to the latest Wordpress. That in itself is a long story. For some reason, the automatic upgrade didn’t work and I had to manually upgrade. I got that done but I noticed my posts were showing weird characters like  or †or or ?. I looked it up and apparently it [...]

 Moon Garden, Tagaytay

Chei and I attended a fair at Tagaytay last Saturday. It was a smallish affair with only a handful of exhibitors. However, we did get to meet Vergel of Town’s Delight. He suggested a place called Moon Garden and offered to show us around the next day. Who are we to decline such and offer, [...]

When it is rare, it’s not the norm. A bad thing that is not the norm is better than a good thing that is not [...]

2009 February 8 Zip-Lining at Picnic Grove, Tagaytay, Cavite

Edong, Elanor, James, Chei and I visited Tagaytay yesterday. It was just a brief sojourn: We had lunch at Leslie’s (crowded and they serve water very grudgingly), coffee at Bag of Beans (barako is strong!), and went zip-lining (awesome :P) at Tagaytay Ridge Zipline and Cable Car inside Picnic Grove.

 Doubt

Doubt is about Sister Aloysius, a ultra-strict ultra-conservative nun who is the headmistress of a school. She is on a crusade against Fr. Flynn, a progressive-minded priest who is teaching at the school. She is quite sure that the priest is engaged in illicit activities with an altar boy/student.
The movie does not attempt to form [...]
